Why this piece? When reading Lord of the Flies, Fahrenheit 451, or Brave New World, the citizens believe their environment is safe until they keep digging to find cracks in their perceived reality. Taking inspiration from the dystopic novels and games like Roblox, slither.io, and Game of Poems for hours on end. I made a game where the overall settings like home, forest, etc would still until you keep clicking to find chaotic words and elements appear, move, and change drastically. I used p5.js to exactly capture the raw sketches and RGB degradation. Just as characters in a novel or game keep getting curious about the world they are in, users here are forced to see what's beneath the "perfect" surface: the raw, unforgiving, and degrading reality. Hence, why it is a computational poetry. The visuals and words mesh to create messy, yet intricate art!
