Senior undergraduate transfer student and graduate student mentors form the backbone of our program. If you are a current CoC graduate student or transfer undergraduate student, we would love to have you on our team!
What are my responsibilities as a graduate student mentor?
Your primary role as a mentor will be meeting with your mentee throughout the fall semester and helping them navigate their first semester at Cal. We particularly encourage you to help them in their search for research positions or internships.
What are my responsibilities as a senior transfer student mentor?
Senior transfer student mentors support Chem 102, speaking in panel discussions and providing 1:1 mentorship to new transfer students. They also are available to answer questions from graduate student mentors about the transfer student experience.
Who can apply to be a mentor?
Any College of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering graduate student, and any College of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering undergraduate transfer student who has completed at least one semester at Berkeley, may apply. Graduate student and transfer student alumni are also welcome to apply!
How do I apply?
Please email coc-tsmp@berkeley.edu for information on how to apply. Applications will be sent to departmental listservs starting in July.
