Obtain seven disposable glass pipets and mark them somewhere on either end of the wider "barrel." Make sure the marks are equal distances apart on each pipet. These lines will serve as a starting and finishing line for the liquids, and it is important that the liquids all travel the same distance.
Once you've marked the pipets, place one in a thermometer clamp such that the wider end is pointing upward and the narrower end is pointing downward toward the lab bench.

Carefully place your finger over the bottom opening (be careful as these glass pipets can be sharp, especially if they are broken).
Fill the pipet with a fuel of your choice so that the liquid level is above the top mark.
When ready, remove your finger from the bottom opening and allow the liquid to drain into a collection vessel.
With a stopwatch, measure how long it takes for the sample to pass from the top mark to the bottom mark.
Repeat this process with the other fuels using a clean, marked pipet for each fuel.
