Before you can develop your first TLC plate, you will need to prepare your developing chamber. Add 10 mL of your first solvent (10:10:1 toluene : ethyl acetate : acetic acid) to a 150-mL beaker fitted with filter paper as shown in the TLC section of your textbook, then cover the top of the beaker with aluminum foil.
