Part 2

Your goal for Part 2 of this lab is to identify the unknown compound you have been assigned by systematically comparing it with known compounds using TLC. To do this, you will develop and analyze four additional TLC plates. Each plate will have three lanes, which are detailed in the following table in the lab textbook.

For the purposes of this digital lab, we will use 10:10:1 toluene : ethyl acetate : acetic acid as developing solvent 1 and 50:50 hexane : ethyl acetate as developing solvent 2.
