Sustainable Solutions is a multidisciplinary team of students. Our members are equipped with industry-relevant skills including life cycle assessment, needs identification, environmental certification, and capacity and transportation planning.
We provide hands-on experience with tools used by planners and engineers. These include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketchup, and Twinmotion for 3D design and rendering; HydroCAD and Sefaira for parametric environmental modeling and computational fluid dynamics and energy simulations; embodied carbon calculators, construction documentation and takeoffs.
Prior experience is not required. If you share our passion for innovative design and green solutions, and want to explore this in a collaborative setting, we welcome you to join us at the start of any semester.
Outside the Club
Cal Sustainable Solutions is a dynamic and growing team of engineers, designers, and planners committed to reimagining the built environment. Since the founding of our chapter, we’ve grown not just in our work, but as a community through retreats, design competitions, and memorable group outings.
Professional Development
The Sustainable Solutions competition ensures that members are equipped with skills to succeed as practicing civil engineers, with the team hosting regular industry connections and workshops.
