UC Berkeley is the host campus for the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CA-CESU), a research and education consortium of 15 State and Federal Agencies and 47 University and non-governmental research partners co-generating science for public benefit. Over 100 projects (~$30M in funding) are implemented via the CA-CESU each year.  

The mission of the Californian CESU is to provide research, technical assistance, and education across the biological, physical, social, and cultural sciences to address natural and cultural resource management issues at multiple scales and in an ecosystem context in California and nationally, as appropriate.
