A summer tradition at the University of California, Berkeley for over fifty years, the Latin Workshop (Latin 15) is a ten-week intensive introductory language course for students with little or no previous experience in Latin. The Workshop counts for ten units, equivalent to almost three semesters of Berkeley Latin courses during the academic year.Â
After successfully completing the Berkeley Latin Workshop, students will be prepared to read the prose of Caesar, Cicero, and Seneca, and the poetry of Virgil, Ovid, and Horace.
In 2026, the Workshop will be conducted in-person on the UC Berkeley campus. There will be no online option.
