Transition Center @ Wood-Ridge
Maximizing independence, one step at a time.
Maximizing independence, one step at a time.
The Transition Center @ Wood-Ridge educates students from grade 5 through the age of 21 with a focus on independent living skills to help our student reach their full potential. We provide a full-day school and community based learning environment, focusing on functional academic skills required for daily living and working in the community. Students benefit from lessons in the areas of health, personal/workplace/travel safety, and appropriate social interactions. Through work internships, functional academics, and a variety of daily living experiences, students are prepared to become true citizens of their communities.
Our goal at the Transition Center is to help our students live as independently as possible by teaching them the necessary life skills to become integral members of their communities. We help our students and their families best prepare for life after the age of 21. Our wonderful, supportive staff have years of experience working on practical skills to promote independence and reinforce these skills to help prepare our students for all their future endeavors.
