2024-2025 REGISTRATION INFO COMING SOON!
Main Challenge Prompt
The ever-changing world is in profound need of the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. This challenge calls upon all participants to design a solution for revolutionizing the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries and improving patient outcomes in the digital age. Your task is to propose an innovative pharmaceutical technology, product, or service that leverages cutting-edge advancements in digital health, artificial intelligence, or biotechnology to transform the way we approach healthcare. Whether it's enhancing drug discovery, personalized medicine, or any other aspect of healthcare, show us your vision for the future of pharmaceutical innovation. Be sure to also complete a complementary business analysis.
How It Works
Phase 1: This is a group-based entrepreneurship and bio-innovation project challenge. Working in teams of 2 to 5 members, groups will brainstorm a new pharmaceutical product (whether biological sciences, computer science, or engineering) that fits the main challenge prompt listed above.
The core of the project revolves around creating a detailed summary of the new product and how it will work (around three paragraphs). Next, the team members must create an APA correctly-formatted source citations section so please be as scientific as possible. Remember: you are trying to prove that your product will work with scientific support and evidence. Please also include a rough image of the product or a picture if the product has been constructed. Feel free to include images from other research papers with proper citations.
The business portion of the submission will involve several key analyses. Entries must include a SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat), a STEEPLE (Social, Technological, Economic, Ethical, Political, Legal, Environmental), and finally a competitive analysis including a minimum of 3 competitors. An example will be posted to the website soon.
MUST BE SUBMITTED IN PDF FORMAT! Please submit as a presentation (no voice-over needed), online document, uploaded physical paper, or uploaded picture of a physical poster. No Google links will be judged, even if shared properly.
Phase 2: Select teams will advance to the second round of competition. In this section, an oral component will be reviewed as teams will be given two weeks to create a video to summarize their entire report. All team members must speak for a minimum of 2 minutes each. At maximum, the presentation should be 16 minutes, but we would like for about a 10-minute presentation.
Phase 3: Winners will be contacted via email. All prizes will be arranged during this time.
