The announcement page will give you a little orientation to the other pages on the site, and will also have some new announcements cycled in and out as events happen during the year (such as events during Hispanic Heritage Month).
¡Hola! In the announcements section to the right, ------->> you may find current info on local Hispanic festivals or events. I may also share cool Internet finds, local food favorites or interesting news. For specific announcements about deadlines, projects or other events specific to a certain class or club - please be sure you go to that class page and sign up for the Remind texts. Homework reminders will be posted in our “Google Classroom. You can also find this sign-up information on each class page.
Each “class page” (example: “Español 3 Pre-AP”) will include sign-up information for students and parents for things such as “Remind texts” and “Google Classroom”, an embedded syllabus, and specific guidelines, recommendations and resources for the class. Depending on the class, there may be some embedded videos which are either for orientation to the class, or support for accomplishing certain learning objectives.
The “Spanish Club - BHS” page will have information for those wanting to join Spanish club at the beginning of the year. Also, during the year it will have some updated information on meetings and projects.
The “Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica - BHS” page will have requirements and information for those wanting to join SHH (aka Spanish Honor Society). It will also have some updated information during the school year for induction, meetings and events.
The “General Resources” page will have links to websites, embedded videos and other generalized advice that is useful no matter what level of Spanish you are taking. There may also be fun facts or weird trivia on this page from time to time.
@Students and Parents - if there is anything you can’t find or is not covered on these pages, please do not hesitate to reach out by sending me an email to wdutton@bentonvillek12.org.
It will also be a challenge to build and maintain relationships in our classroom community while social distancing and/or studying virtually. I am committed to finding ways for us to build our classroom community despite these challenges. I want us to have a great year of español!
