Important information and upcoming events:
Spring Term 2022.
This term Year 1 will be travelling around the world.
We will continue to explore the world using a range of geographical language and we will begin to use maps and atlases to locate various continents and countires. First stop China and then Australia.
Autumn 2 and Summer Term 2022
During Autumn 2 the children will be exploring toys through time and in the Summer term they will be learning about castles, Kings and Queens.
Year 1
History - Explorers in Space.
Literacy - Writing to inform. Man on the moon and writing instructions .
Numeracy - Developing key number skills, addition, subtraction, puzzles and reasoning. Exploring length, weight and capacity and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
PSHE - Exploring emotions and how we can make positive changes to how we feel.
Science - Exploring materials. The children will be exploring a wide range of questions. such as;
Can you name a material? Can you tell me the material we use to make a window? Why do we use specific materails for specific jobs?
Art - Space art. We will be using various materails and media to create images of space.
Year 1 PE days.
The children will need to come into school wearing their pe kit on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Parent's Evening.
Please make an appointment for parent's evening as soon as possible.
Wednesday 11th March.
If no appointment is made then a time will be allocated.
Tamworth Castle Visit.
We have a trip to Tamwrth Castle planned for the children as part of their up coming castle topic.
Week beginning 2/12/19.
Merry Christmas everyone. It's that time of year again.
This week is 'Family Christmas Dinner'. Please remember to bring your dinner slip.

Trip to Cosford.
On Monday 24th June Year 1 Cosford Air Museum as part of their 'Around the World' Topic.
The children will need to wear their uniform for this trip.
Week beginning 11th March.
Science week.
WB 11/3/19 This week we will be exploring a range of exciting science experiments.
Wednesday 6th March.
The animal man will be visiting Year 1 and showing them a range of animals which they will get to handle and stroke.
Year 1 Inspire Day - Thursday 22nd November.
We would like to welcome parents and carers to our Year 1 inspire day. We will be making London houses from 1666.
The letters went out last week so please can you return your slips if you would like to come. A confirmation slip will be given to confirm your allocated time slot.
Year 1 Project.
The children have been set a task to create a piece of work linked to The Great Fire of London or fire fighters from the present day.
