Beginning Band Parent meeting will be on WEDNESDAY, MAY 13th following Sixth Grade Orientation at 6:00 in the PAC.

Your child's journey in band begins in the spring of 5th Grade. In early May, 5th graders will have the opportunity to learn about and listen to all of the instruments in the band.
Interested students will "interview" with Ms. Stromberg and select an instrument.
Lessons begin in August. Students will have one 30-minute lesson every day for 2 weeks before starting 6th Grade.
Obtaining an Instrument and Required Supplies

French Horns are rented from the school. A signed Instrument Agreement and yearly fee of $100 are required to cover the cost of cleaning. Junior High students will receive two instruments, one for school, and one for home practice (through their eighth grade year).

Percussion
First year percussionists will purchase a beginner kit from Popplers containing a pair of snare sticks, a pair of acrylic mallets (for xylophone and bell), a pair of yarn mallets (for marimba playing), and a mallet bag. Ms. Stromberg will email percussion families the Popplers contact for discount pricing.
