Counseling K-5 Curriculum Overview

The Bennington Public Schools Comprehensive School Counseling Program serves all students Kindergarten through Grade 5.  Mrs. Guinn &/or Mrs. Pryor will teach weekly lessons using the Second Step curriculum.  The classroom teacher will extend the weekly lessons on a daily basis, emphasizing the skills taught.  In addition to classroom guidance instruction, both Mrs. Guinn and Mrs. Pryor are available to work with individual students and small groups.  Groups are available for topics which could include; social skill development, friendship, anxiety (stress/worry), adjustment to changing family dynamics (death of a loved one, divorce, new addition).
