Bennington Public Schools uses Amplify in the mathematics curriculum that equips teachers to fully implement the standards for mathematics in a manner that is rigorous, coherent, engaging, and accessible to all learners. 

Students will build strong math skills throughout the Amplify Math curriculum by exploring numbers, patterns, measurement, and problem-solving strategies. They will learn how to explain their thinking, use math tools and models, and work with classmates to solve real-world problems. Throughout the year, students will develop their understanding of addition and subtraction, place value, shapes, measurement, and data while strengthening their confidence and perseverance as mathematicians. Our lessons encourage discussion, hands-on learning, and multiple ways to solve problems so students can deepen their understanding of math concepts.

The Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts -CKLA curriculum aligns with the vision of Bennington Public Schools’  English Language Arts (ELA). The district’s vision believes in an explicit, systematic, knowledge-building, and integrated approach to teaching English Language Arts based on best practices in research. The essential components of Foundations of Reading, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Vocabulary, and Speaking and Listening align with Nebraska’s College and Career Ready Standards for English Language Arts and are closely interrelated.

Guidance classes, small group lessons, and individual guidance assistance are an integral part of the school curriculum. Guidance lessons are designed to promote student growth throughout the six units listed below.  The school counselor works with staff and parents in various ways to support a positive school experience for all students.
