Students in kindergarten through third grade will be using Seesaw as their digital learning platform this year.
We choose Seesaw because it offers our youngest learners a way to independently share their learning. It integrates all of the tools the student will need, such as drawing tools, camera, audio recording, and text. It features simple communication tools for families, and allows teachers to transform their teaching in an engaging way.
Students will be using the "Seesaw Class" app on their school-issued iPads.
Parents may download the "Seesaw Family" app which allow them to view their student's work and communicate easily with the child's teacher.
We will be using Seesaw both in face-to-face learning at school, and in the event we go remote. Think of it as a digital portfolio of your child's learning.
Watch: Welcome to Seesaw
Seesaw makes student learning visible. Completed work is shared in the child's journal. All of the tools needed to complete assignments are integrated into the Seesaw platform (photo, video, drawing, text, uploads, links) so students can complete their work independently. Through the use of icons and video and audio instructions, even our youngest students will be successful.
Your child's specialist teachers (Art, Music, PE, Library, Pine Hill) will be included in their classroom, so there is just one stop for all of their learning activities.
There is a separate app for families to use.
Download 'Seesaw Family' from the App Store or Google Play Store. Don’t have a smartphone? Sign up on a computer at app.seesaw.me.
Tap 'Create Family Account' and scan the QR code you will receive in the first days of school from your child's teacher.
Create your account to see your child's journal. Make sure to allow notifications to get real-time updates about new posts.
