CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DYSTOPIAN GENRE STUDENT COPY Ed2.0
While you read Chapter 1 and 2 of the Giver, you need to take notes.
Set up your notebook:
Page 1- title of the book and essential question: What is more important, love or safety?
Fold the page in half lengthwise: one half is for rules, the other half is for traditions/rituals (leave the back blank)
Page 2 in notebook: Fold in half again one half is for jobs in the community and the other is for notes on every time you read about the word release- write the page number and what you think the definition is for the word
Lastly- the chapters do not have titles, so on a page you will write a title for each chapter to help you remember what the chapter was about.
We will not finish the book until after spring break, so it is important to take notes.
