Following graduation from Upper Iowa University, I began working as a substitute teacher in many local districts. I went full time in the Bellevue Community School District in 1999 teaching Gifted and Talented as well as Title One Reading before settling in as a 5th grade teacher where I've spent a majority of my career. I love teaching 5th grade! Such an important year of change and growth preparing to transition to Middle School. I look forward to partnering your family on this journey!
Born and raised in Jackson County, I've lived in the Andrew area my whole life. My husband, Pat, and I are parents to two grown children. Our daughter Kate teaches High School Art and is the director of the Drama Program in the Cascade School District. She is married to Dan and they are parents to the love of our lives - Ronan. Our son Jake is a manager at Menards in Cedar Rapids. He lives in Marion with his fiancee Hannah. Together they foster bunnies who are searching for their forever home.
I'm a sports fan! I coached high school and junior high volleyball for 25 years in both the Andrew and Bellevue districts. In addition to volleyball, my family especially loves softball and football. We are avid Hawkeye, Brewers, and Packers fans!
