The next rotation begins in January, 2025.
If you're looking to be of service, but don't yet have the "suggested sobriety time" required,
please come to the group conscience and let's talk about it!
Remember, willingness is the key.
Any commitment that requires funding:
Most expenses will be reimbursed by group.
Please request funds prior to spending.
Beginner’s Group Trusted Servant Positions
Title, Description, and for how long Suggested Length of Sobriety Requirement
Coffee Maker / Key holder 3+ months of sobriety
Arrives at the club at 6:30am to make coffee for the meeting.
3 month commitment.
Meeting Chair 3+ months of sobriety
Responsible for implementing the group meeting format.
Willing to attend monthly business meetings (or send representative) so you stay on top of group decisions regarding changes to format or other pertinent information.
Willing to learn and implement group conscience decisions and 12 Traditions during meeting.
Need a telephone and either chairs the meeting face to face or has a reliable internet connection and a printed copy of the format.
6 month commitment.
Hybrid Connector 3+ months of sobriety
Responsible for connecting the club meeting room to the Zoom meeting
Willing to arrive early at meeting to set up connection. Willing to stay a little after meeting in case members online want to talk.
Willing to keep an eye on technology owned by group, ensure it is locked or stored after meeting.
Willing to attend monthly business meeting to discuss any issues.
6 month commitment
General Service Representative (GSR) 2+ years of sobriety
Currently chairs the group conscious (business) meeting.
Represents Beginner's Group in District and Area functions.
Willing to learn 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts, GSC literature, GV, and other District/Area commitments.
Able to send/receive emails.
Willing to attend and participate in committees at District and Area.
Reports to District, Area, Region, GSO our group conscience decisions.
Reports to Beginner’s Group goings on at District, Area, Region and GSO.
Willing to help with Tradition questions, problems and inventory of Beginner’s Group.
Upholds Traditions within the group and helps other members understand what’s going on with Traditions.
2 year commitment.
Alternate GSR 1+ year of sobriety
Assumes GSR responsibilities in the GSR absence.
Willing to learn GSR position, 12 Traditions and 12 Concepts.
Able to send/receive emails.
2 year commitment.
Secretary 6+ months of sobriety
Drafts a written record of the group conscious meeting.
Keeps an archive of group decisions, written corrected/approved minutes and meeting formats.
Able to send/receive emails.
Maintains updated group phone lists and meeting formats.
Ensures printed and email copies of formats and phone lists are available as needed.
Distributes minutes to group members prior to monthly group conscience meetings for corrections and additions.
Presents minutes at monthly group conscience meetings.
Collects information for and distributes group conscience agenda (usually via email) prior to monthly group conscience (business) meeting.
1 year commitment.
Treasurer 2+ years of sobriety
Maintains the Beginner's Group treasury and expenses.
Coordinates with GSR, GV rep, Literature rep to pay or reimburse for expenses as allowed by group conscience.
Makes bank deposits.
Keeps receipts of bank deposits, expenses reimbursed, etc.
Able to send/receive emails
Is able to write and sign checks (has ability to be a signer on the group bank account).
Is willing to learn excel.
Responsible for basket money, Venmo, and other miscellaneous donations (or has other group members help).
Needs to provide mailing address to members as requested.
Reports monthly income & expenses to group at group conscience meetings.
Attends monthly group conscience meetings to answer financial questions and provide input.
2 year commitment
Chip Person 3+ months sobriety
Inventories chips and advises group at group conscience when there is a need for more chips.
Weekly mails tokens to online members / attendees. (Will be reimbursed for costs associated with mailing.)
Able to text or zoom chat to obtain mailing addresses to send chips.
6 month commitment.
Literature Liaison with the Triage center 6+ months sobriety
On a monthly basis, coordinates with the LC Triage center for literature needs.
Reports to the group the literature status and requirements at monthly group conscience meeting.
Able to send/receive emails.
6 month commitment.
Grapevine Representative 3+ months sobriety
Liaison between AA Grapevine and Beginner’s Group.
Informs GV that you are the rep so they can send news and information about GV to report to group.
Attends monthly group conscience meetings to inform Beginner’s Group about GV books, magazine, news, etc.
Could attend District and Area GV meetings.
Encourages subscriptions to GV.
Willing to help with any subscription issues.
Willing to help members order items from GV.
Willing to make announcements about GV.
1 year commitment.
Technology Chair 6+ months sobriety
Serves as point person with regards to all the technology needs of the group.
Coordinates with the hosts, cohosts, website coordinator, hybrid connector(s) at least monthly to facilitate the groups technology needs are met, that the meeting is connected both online and in person, and if there are any questions or concerns those are brought to the monthly group conscience meeting as needed.
Attends monthly group conscience (business) meeting.
Need phone and email.
Willing to be contacted before the meeting when emergency arises with host/cohost or hybrid connection issues.
1 year commitment
Website Coordinator 6+ months sobriety
Maintains group website as per 12 Traditions and group conscience.
Updates pages as needed.
1 year commitment.
Literature Representative 1+ year of sobriety
Willingness to become familiar with General Service Conference Approved Literature (in order to help group decide what to purchase and help newer members know where to find information).
Coordinates with District Literature Representative for ordering.
Coordinates with Beginner's Group Triage person for ordering books and pamphlets for Triage.
Coordinates with group Treasurer on ordering books and pamphlets for reimbursement and budget.
Coordinates with group to make sure there are books and pamphlets.
Newcomer Packets – ensures we never run out of needed items for Newcomer Packets.
Could attend district and area Literature Committee meetings to inform group of changes in literature, news, events. Signs up with GSO advising them there is a literature representative for group and will receive news from GSO about literature.
Currently mails newcomer packets (gets addresses from new members and mails out newcomer packets via USPO).
Keeps an awareness of books and pamphlets for in person meetings. Orders more books or pamphlets as needed.
Attends monthly business meeting to provide report, collect information on literature needs of the group.
1 year commitment.
