Prom, a night that every girl has been looking forward to since she was little. What makes this night so special? The long beautiful dresses, the glittery high heels, the fabulous nails, hair and makeup, and last but not least, the perfect date. That's only to name a few. Even if you go by yourself you are still destined to have a great night. Terry Mcduffie (11) said he's taking his date because, “she said yes when I asked her and she also made me.” Now when it comes to the girls, all you can think about is hair, makeup, and their dress. When asked if she was keeping her dress a secret, Abigail Davis (11) responded with, “Yes but no I let my close friends see it but I ain't gonna just let anybody see it.” Although there is plenty of time between the date of when prom is to the night itself, many people plan in advance. I have not had my dress planned out long. I thought I knew the style I wanted but when I got to the dress shop I picked something completely different so it took a little longer to get my dress than I thought,” said Baylee Hunt (11). The morning of prom is a very stressful day. So much has to be done before the dance. “I think it’s going to take around 3 hours for both hair and makeup and my cousin is doing both,” said Jaislynn Ray (11). Even though homecoming is still celebrated during the year people still look forward to prom. Although some may have different opinions. “I like homecoming better because there are more people so everyone is dancing more,” said Isabella West (11). Many things can be said about prom but I think it has been proven that it is a very important night.
