Current 9 weeks Skill Sheet

Parents,

We plan to give the 4th 9 weeks’ test the week of April 22nd. Students must make an 85% or better on this assessment in BOTH MATH & READING in order to pass kindergarten and promote to 1st grade. It covers all of the skills that we have worked on all year in class.

Here is a list of the skills that we will continue to work on for the 4th 9 weeks. We work on these skills in class each day, but any extra practice at home will help.  We will also spend much of the 4th 9 weeks reviewing for this final assessment.

By the end of the 4th 9 weeks (on the FINAL test) students should be able to:

ELA:

·  write first and last name

·  write all upper and lowercase letters

·  be able to identify all upper and lowercase letters

·  identify the sound of all letters

·  identify all heart words learned up to this point

·  write CVC, CVCC, CCVC, and CCVCC words called out by the teacher (Examples:

    put, camp, scab, stamp)

·  read simple sentences

   write simple sentences

·  write 5+ words sentence (begin with a capital letter, spaces between words, ending 

    punctuation mark.) Ex: The pig dug in the mud.

·  reading comprehension

Math:

·  orally count to 100 by ones and tens

·  count objects to 20

·  write numbers 0-20

·  identify numbers to 0-20

·  ten frames & teen frames

·  complete simple addition and subtraction sentences

·  solve addition & subtraction word problems both with a given picture and having to  

   draw the picture
