third Quarter 2021-2022

beechwood GT

Currently 325 students receive support from the Gifted and Talented program at Beechwood. Services range from pull-out classes to contests, to field trips to Gifted Student Progress Reports, and are dependent on student age and needs.

Each GT student in grades 4-12 has a Gifted Student Service Plan which can be found in Infinite Campus under documents. (Parents only.) If you would like to talk about updating your child's GSSP, please reach out at trish.neace@beechwood.kyschools.us.

It was a busy third quarter with loads of testing, identifying, planning, and fun!

Three field trips this school year have been a collaboration with NKAGE and CCM for our students in middle grades who are formally identified in the performing arts.

I like to work with kind professionals who help us learn and practice new and old skills. -Claire Ankrum

I've learned to:

  • Combine all performing arts into one.

  • Improve my teamwork skills by collaborating and including everyone's ideas.

  • Push myself in front of people outside of my school.

And I've learned that there are a lot of people who enjoy doing what I do, outside of my school!

-Lily MacDonald

We explored improvisation and teamwork skills while creating a skit based on random props and a quote. We combined many forms of the arts and worked on essential skills like projecting your voice and cheating out on stage.

-Shami Chikwenhere

Working with CCM staff has been fun! I like the staff because they make me step out of my comfort zone.
