This 8th grade art class showcases a dynamic range of projects that blend technical skill-building with personal expression and contemporary inspiration. Students explored color, pattern, and movement through vibrant Jen Stark-inspired Drip Murals, experimenting with layering and visual rhythm. In their Reverse Acetate Expressive Self-Portraits, paired with marbled backgrounds, students combined unconventional materials while developing their understanding of facial features and proportions, creating bold works that reflect both careful observation and individual identity.

Drawing influence from modern landscapes, students created Grant Haffner–inspired Road Paintings and Collages, capturing atmosphere, texture, and a sense of place. Playful creativity shines through in the Zentangle Ice Cream Cones, where intricate patterns transform simple forms into imaginative designs. Perspective and spatial awareness were developed in One-Point Perspective Cityscapes, demonstrating students’ growing understanding of depth and structure.

Finally, in their Value and Form Studies with Expressive Backgrounds, students focused on shading, contrast, and three-dimensional form while incorporating bold, expressive elements. Together, these works highlight a year of artistic growth, experimentation, and the development of each student’s unique visual voice.
