Major politcal allies to Israel spoke on the Massacre in the following days...
In the words of the UN,
"The tragic events which occurred in Munich last week shocked the conscious of mankind. They were a brutal reminder of the need for international cooperation to prevent such acts of terrorism"
The UN Security Council meeting on September 10th was directly in response to the Munich Games. The meeting heralded opinions from different members who condemned the methods of The Black September.
As a result of this international bodies began to treat acts of terrorism as geopolitical (referring to politics) events and not just criminal actions.
The discussion in the hearing not only focused on the inernational community, but the responsibility and retaliation of the rest of the world. A majority of the UN emphasised the need to address the root cause of the terror acts.
11 years after the events during the Munich Games.
In 1983, the United States announced the HRT. The Hostage Rescue Team, that would be used as a last resort for the Olympic Games and national stage events. Their main job was to be trained to properly handle terror threats which hadn't been an issue that was acknowledged up until Munich. The HRT has been a presence at every Olympic Games ever since, the host countries partnering with other countries and the Us to ensure that the spaces where athletes would be residing and the areas of the games would allow safety at the highest priority.
