Math

There are three components to our Math Curriculum. They are Problems and Investigations, Work Places and Number Corner.

Students work together in whole group and small group instruction, partner and individual work.

During Number Corner the skills that are being acquired in Problems and Investigations and Work Places are applied in a new way. Each month students work with:

• Patterns on the Calendar
• A Monthly Collection
• Number of Days in School
• A Number Line

Throughout the year your child will learn to:

• Count to 120 and learn place value
• Add and subtract with numbers to 20
• Talk about fractions
• Identify, sort and draw shapes
• Solve puzzles
• Solve and create story problems
