Changing the Learning Model for your child (a student all remote changes to hybrid or a student learning through the hybrid model changes to all remote)
Bedford Public School’s policy
We have carefully planned our remote and hybrid learning plans based on student enrollment. This information was provided to us by families and finalized during the final days of August 2020. While we remain open to the idea of a family deciding to change their enrollment choice once the school year has begun, changes will be dependent on our ability to staff the change and our ability to accommodate a student into the new model because of class size limitations and course enrollments. This may mean that a student changing from remote to hybrid may need to be placed outside of their alphabetic cohort. We will do our best to accommodate changes within the three to four-week window recommended by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
When a family decides they would like to make a change we ask that they contact their child’s school registrar to begin that process. Registrars will communicate with one another to coordinate the process for families.

What this means for students at Davis School
Families must notify the administration in writing if they are requesting a change in the learning model (switching from hybrid to all remote and vice versa). Please email this request to Kathleen_defina@bedfordps.org. The administration will carefully look at placement numbers and determine the appropriate placement based on the current enrollment numbers in the team’s virtual class and in person classes. Students might need to change teaching teams in order for us to accommodate your requested change. This change may take up to three weeks to implement. Please understand that each change has a huge impact on our teaming model so we can not accommodate short term or temporary changes.
