We are the theatre & dance program at Liberty High School in Bedford, Virginia. We produce two main-stage dance concerts, one main stage musical, a one-act competition play, and a children's performing arts summer camp per year. We are happy to be a part of the thriving cultural arts scene in Bedford. Theatre classes at LHS are fun. Theatre Production, Theatre Stagecraft, and Dance courses are open to all students and fulfill the Fine Arts credit required for graduation. The Director

Shayna Crews is a native of Miami, Florida, earning an MFA in Dance from Shenandoah University, a BFA in Dance from Wright State University, and a BA in Theatre from Lynchburg College. Shayna is the Director of Theatre and Dance at Liberty High School in Bedford, Virginia. 2025-2026 marks her thirteenth year of teaching in secondary education. Production credits include Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, A Chorus Line, Crazy For You, Showboat, Meet Me in St. Louis, and A Christmas Carol. Professional credits include The Sound of Music and Young Abe Lincoln at The Lincoln Amphitheatre in Evansville, IN, 20th Century Christmas at La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Dayton, OH, and The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama in Manteo, NC. Shayna has also represented Flying Lions Dance Company under the direction of Ting Yu Chen at the American College Dance Festival and Old Dominion University's Choreographers Showcase. Shayna has also danced with The University of Arizona's Jazz Dance Spring Gala, Pensacola Junior College Jazz Workshop, Washington DC's Joy of Motion's Choreography Showcase, Kitty Clark's Art Farm Cafe, and 2006 Estada Interdansa in Spain. She has assisted Bill Brawley, the Young Americans Song and Dance Company director in Los Angeles, CA. Shayna is a certified member of Florida Dance Masters, Inc., and a certified member of Carolina Dance Masters . She was named Liberty High School's 2020 Teacher of the Year. Fun Fact: Shayna has performed with 2025’ Tony-Winning Best Lead Actress in a Musical, Nicole Scherzinger.
