16+ Academic Scholarships are available to both internal and external candidates entering Bede's Sixth Form the following year. Internal and external candidates are treated equally.

Candidates can choose which subjects they wish to sit papers in, and need to pick two papers from the five available options (English, Languages, Maths, Science and Humanities). Papers are each 90 minutes in length. Access arrangements (such as extra time and scribes) will be made available for candidates who qualify for them (please note that the 16+ Scholarships form MUST be completed by 5pm on Monday 3 November to quality for access arrangements).

Candidates will also need to prepare a five minute presentation on an area of academic interest. They may use technology (e.g. Google Slides) to aid them with their presentation, but do not need to. Please see the scholarship form for further information about these presentations. Applicants will join Faculty masterclasses, take part in a team challenge and be interviewed by senior academic leaders. Candidates may also be asked sit a Baseline Test (unless one has been completed in school recently).

All candidates should complete the 16+Scholarships Form by 5pm on Monday 3 November. Prior to completing this form, candidates should

a) decide on which two subjects they would like to sit papers in,

b) decide on the title for their five minute academic presentation and

c) create a short personal statement (maximum 1200 characters) about why they wish to be a scholar.
