Tips for Shooting a Great Video:
∙ Create clear audio
Choose a quiet place to conduct the interview and have the interviewee speak loud and clear.
∙ Remove potential distractions
Turn your phone on silent and remove any jewelry or other noisy items that may disturb the audio.
∙ Choose an appropriate setting
Make sure the background is clear of any distractions and that you have plenty of lighting. Face a window or add supplemental light so that you can clearly see the person being interviewed.
∙ Have the interviewee act natural
Be sure to have the interviewee stand straight, maintain eye contact with the camera and try to avoid fidgeting or making distracting gestures.
Record your video horizontally and provide plenty of space around the subject’s head and body. Try to hold the video recorder steady to avoid shaking and blurriness.
Try to allow the interviewee to answer the questions without jumping in to guide their response. Leave some questions open ended and don’t ask any questions prior to the interview to allow for a more authentic response from the interviewee.
Think about your answer before speaking and be sure to repeat the content of the question in your response.
