Project will be 3-5 minutes in length
5 participants ( 1 can be a teacher or staff)
Written promise cards must be featured
Find 5 participants that you would like to interview (1 may be a teacher or staff)
Make sure they all have written promise cards
Make sure they receive their waiver and photo release, so they can turn in their signed copy before filming
Find a good quiet location to conduct the interviews and record the video
Test the audio beforehand to establish how loud the interviewees should speak
Make sure no jewelry, background noise/people, phone notifications etc will interrupt or interfere with the recording
Make sure your participants are the star of the show!
The location should not be cluttered or visually noisy either…make sure the interviewee can be clearly seen and the lighting is good
Advise them to act naturally, sit/stand straight, maintain eye contact with the camera and try to avoid fidgeting or making distracting gestures
Hold the camera horizontally and provide plenty of space around the subject’s head and body. Try to hold the camera steady to avoid shaking and blurriness.
Interviewer: plan on allowing the interviewee to answer the questions without jumping in to guide their response…Leave some questions open ended and don’t ask any questions prior to the interview to allow for a more authentic response from the interviewee.
Interviewee: think about your answer before speaking and be sure to repeat the content of the question in your response
Brainstorming Questions/Prompts

If you realize that something that was said was inaudible while listening back, closed captions or subtitles may be useful during editing
