Students will be using Google Classroom and Google Suite for collaboration between their peers and myself. All topics, materials, assignments, and assessments are posted in their respective class periods' Google Classroom.
Classroom codes are only available to students and their parent/guardians. Feel free to contact me for your respective class periods classroom code.
As one way to promote comunication and collaboration, all Design Thinking students will be using the educational application called "Flipgrid." Flipgrid will allow students to share their designs, receive feedback from their peers and much more.
Again, a code will be shared with each class. All sharing is in a closed group.
Students have the unique ability to create and then print 3D prototypes using a Makerbot Replicator. In addition, an onboard camera will allow students to watch the replicator
2019-2020 School Year
Former Eighth Grade Students designed a Buddy Bench for Coy. The bench will be used to create a space for students to sit and make new friends. Another feature is that the back of the bench is made of chalkboard paint. The chalkboard paint will allow students and teachers to write positive encouraging messages to each other.
Students interviewed our wonderful students from Mrs. Shannon's and Ms. Bonza's classes to create an individually designed candy. The results was a user centered candy design that excited students and teachers alike!
Student groups were given a different empathy background story and created a limited prototype. This group shown created prosthetic webbed feet for a duck.
Students had the opportunity to interview Mr John Seibel from WDTN-TV in the Fall of 2019. Mr. Seibel spoke to the students about how local journalists provided timely information during and after the Memorial Day Tornadoes that affected Beavercreek.
