Homework Update: We will be recording our homework in our Homework Planners/Agenda together in class. You should see it filled out weekly, since we will be doing it together in school to help form this study skills habit. Please be sure to check in daily and sign the planner for that day. We will be learning this important work organization tool. I'll be prompting the kids that once they get home to come see you with the planner or put in on the counter/table where you can see it daily to go over with them as well as showing you their homework. Although, you might have to help remind them or ask to see it as we start to get back in the swing of things and develop it. Also, this is an important carry over to home in practicing our responsibility character education trait that we will be working on in Science/Health that helps your child keep track of his/her homework. If you don't see anything written in your child's planner, please reach out to me in email or a note.
ProgressBook Online Gradebook: This year, you will now have access to your child's grades and missing assignments. The district will send out an email using the primary account from the Oneview forms you filled out online. The email will provide you with directions to create your account. Please save this email. I will be touching base soon with more information on this wonderful tool.
Math Daily Homework - For the first couple of weeks, the homework will be to practice multiplcation facts for 10 minutes a day to boost their memory of the facts. Starting in September, the weekly themed math homework will start. It should always stay in their "Return to school" section of their orange Take Home Folder. These problems should go back and forth between home and school. It will be called "Montly Math" such as Sept Math. We work on it at school in our "study hall" time, and finish (if needed) at home. Even if some of it is done, I'm still telling the kids it's a good idea to show you, so it can be double checked. See the following homework schedule:

Reading Daily Homework - For the first couple of weeks, the homework will be reading 20 minutes each night. Starting in September, the homework "Hello, Sunshine!" spiral practice will switch to homework. I start it with them in class before they start taking it home, so they understand how to do it. The following is a description of it. We will be staring it in class first, so they can do it independently in the fall. We are completing a daily spiral practice working toward mastery of our standards in ELA. This should always stay in their "Return to school" section of their orange Take Home Folder. This practice should go back and forth between home and school. We work on it at school in our "study hall" time, and finish (if needed) at home. Even if some of it is done, I'm still telling the kids it's a good idea to show you, so it can be double checked. See the following homework schedule:
