Student Expectations

Students will...

  • Respect themselves, others and property. Keep hands, feet, and all objects to yourself.

  • Speak and listen respectfully to others at all times using correct voice level and appropriate tone.

  • Come to class "Ready To Learn" with all materials including a charged Chromebook.

  • Write down their assignments in their agenda when they walk into class.

  • Complete and turn in assignments ON TIME. If not, students will fill out a Missing form when the assignment is turned in.

  • Actively participate in class discussions and activities in a way that will help them and others learn.

  • Try to reach their full potential and never give up.

  • Students will advocate for themselves and ask for help when needed.

If you find you are having problems, PLEASE ask for help.

What Students can Expect from the Teacher:

  • You can expect that I will respect you, your feelings, and your abilities.

  • You can expect that I will listen when you are talking and answer your questions to the best of my ability.

  • You can expect that I will encourage you when you are frustrated or when you feel like you have failed. Realize in every failure there is something to be learned.

  • You can expect that I will push you harder when you feel like giving up. It is my goal to see that you succeed. I believe you have the ability to do so.

  • You can expect that I will be available to help you whenever I can. If you find you are having trouble, please let me know so I can give you extra help. I will work with you to overcome any difficulties you may have.

  • You can expect me to care about you and your future.

Consequences if expectations are not met**:

  1. 1st signature on the student's ERO card is a warning.

  2. 2nd signature will result in a student conference and parent contact via email.

  3. 3rd signature will result in an after school Detention and parent contact via email

  4. 4th signature will result in an afternoon Detention and parent contact by phone/email.

  5. 5th signature will result in an office referral and parent contact by the office.

  6. Every signature there after results in an office referral.

Character Cards start over each nine weeks. Students get a new beginning.

**Consequences may be changed or modified in function of the severity of the behavior observed not meeting expectations. This is at the discretion of the teacher and/or administration.

It is important to note that if a student's name is left by a sub for misbehavior, this is an automatic afternoon Detention according to the Student Code of Conduct.
