Middle School Competition Cheerleading Clinics and Tryout Information
(Current 6th and 7th graders)
Pre-Tryout Parent Meeting: April 14th 6:30 Ferguson Hall Lecture Hall (Enter door 7N)
Clinics- Tuesday April 28th and Thursday April 30th 5:30-8:00pm Ferguson MPR (Enter door 7N)
Comp Open Gym- Wednesday April 29th 5:30-7:30pm Ferguson MPR (Enter door 7N)
Tryouts-Friday May 1st 5:30-8:00pm
**Prior to clinics you MUST be signed up on Final Forms for Winter Girls Competition Cheer for the 26-27 school year for AMS or CMS.
What is Competition Cheer?
Comp cheer is a performance based, choreographed routine. Comp cheer begins in August and runs through February with competitions occuring October-February. Comp cheer is considered a winter sport. Attending weekly team tumbling is a requirement of being a comp cheerleader
Traditional Competition-
This routine is 2:30 and incorporates a lot of running tumbling, dance and a cheer
Gameday Competition-
This routine is 3 minutes and consists of a band dance, offense/defense cheer, crowd cheer and fight song. No running tumbling is allowed.
