If a student is unable to join a Meet, click on the +people icon and enter the student's email address. Please refer to the video for further guidance.
Create a Meet link in Google Classroom.
Google meet sometimes mistakes your monitor’s soundbar as a MIC and points to it instead of your webcam’s MIC. To fix, open Google Meet’s settings and point it to the proper device.
The quickest fix for this issue is to restart your computer. The recommendation is to restart your computer every morning to force install any updates needed for Google Meets. If you still cannot hear your students, click on three dots in the lower right of your screen. From there, click settings and then check to see that the right speakers and mic are chosen.
Make sure one of the devices has the volume and mic muted at all times to stop this noise from happening.
The current fix for Gridview is an new extension called Gridview Fix. You will need to uninstall Gridview and install Gridview Fix. Coming soon in September we will see a Gridview embedded in Google Meet layouts, and we will no longer need an extension. Hang tight!
