The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federal program administered by the USDA that provides free, fresh fruit and vegetable snacks to eligible elementary school students during the school day. Its goals are to increase consumption of fresh produce, introduce children to new foods and healthy eating habits, and provide nutrition education to support long-term health. The program is authorized by the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act and operates in select schools across the United States and its territories.
