Dance

Hello! My name is Marissa McMickens-Hurm and I’m the dance teacher at Hilton Head High School. This is my first year teaching, and I’m thrilled to join the community.

I grew up in Louisiana and have been dancing for 25 years. I hold a Musical Theatre and Dance Performance degree from Northwestern State University as well as an MBA from Lincoln Memorial University. I’ve performed across the country in theme parks, at the Smoky Mountain Opry, and on Norwegian cruise lines and I’ve also choreographed for middle school and high school musicals.

I’m passionate about exposing students to a wide range of movement and dance styles. My goal is to bring different genres into the dance department so every student can explore new techniques, build confidence, and find their creative side!
