What did you do this week? This week I got to finish some of the merit badges that I wanted to do. I worked more on personal management and personal fitness merit badge. I printed out the worksheet for cooking merit badge. But I didn't work on it at all because I just didn't have the time to work on it. I also went to the meeting this week and then we taught the first years how to use axes, saws, and knives. I got to teach them all about it. I also went to a campout and I and my friends just messed around. But that big storm came to our camp and the power went out, so we had to go home due to all the food going bad.
What do I plan on doing next week? I plan on meeting with a counselor for Family Life and getting that one fully done, I also plan on working the cooking merit badge because that's something that I need to have done before April 21. I also wanted to sign up for this camp in the summer that's at the end of July. So I might do that
What problems did I have this week? This week I still don't feel like doing any of It because I am starting to get more tired and more lazy. But next week I plan on improving this by getting more sleep and by setting a time for me to work on all of my scout work.
I taught the 1st years how to use axes, saws, and knives, They get an award for doing this and its called the totin chip. What they have to do is demonstrate the safety of using those tools and how to use them without getting hurt and using them the correct way.
This is what the badge looks like and you can put it on your uniform.
Demonstrate proper handling, care, and use of the pocketknife, ax, and saw.
Use knife, ax, and saw as tools, not playthings.
Respect all safety rules to protect others.
Respect property. Cut living and dead trees only with permission and good reason.
Subscribe to the Outdoor Code.
I also have signed up for a camp called conclave that is at the end of the month. we have to go to this camp called Beumont, and then we just mess around and have a lot of fun with people, and my friends.
The order of the arrow is the Scouting national Honor society, you get voted in by all your peers and you have to receive 50% of the voted to get in. I was announced in 2020 and it has helped me make a lot of new friends and OA (Order of the arrow) campouts have been the most fun that ive had on a campout and I can recommond it to anyone that gets in.
