French I
This project involved researching a prominent French figure. My choice was the mathematician and philosopher René Descartes. I had chosen Descartes for his contributions in math with the Cartesian coordinate system, and I had known him from his famous quote, Cogito Ergo Sum, or I think, therefore I am.
Investigating the world. The process towards picking Descartes had involved researching the prominent people to came from France. As I researched Descartes, I learned more about France's involvement in philosophy and the importance of the French Revolution. Through researching Descartes, I developed a more nuanced view of French history,

The project pictured to the left is the Genius Project. This project involved every student dedicating ten weeks to a passion project. For my project, I chose to focus on competitions. I documented a competition I participated in from week to week, varying from track events to lifting to video games.
This project connects to the pillar of taking action. Taking initiative was a key aspect of my genius project, as it was important that I had attempted to challenge someone. I took action by initiating these competitions with people and by challenging myself to compete with my "opponents" and myself. Overcoming barriers such as sickness and injury made this project even more fulfilling.
Summit Night
Pictured left is an infographic of the country of Turkey. This was a group project between Zachary Ledoux and me as a part of the JAGS Summit Night event. This project included a live presentation during Summit Night for parents or anyone interested.
This is connected to the pillar of investigating the world. We had to research both the logistics of Turkey along the culture and customs of the country. In doing so, we found a new understanding of both Turkey and its connections to nearby countries. This project led to a further investigation of how Middle Eastern and Eurocentric countries have a rich history of both conflict and tradition.

Heifer
Traveled to the Heifer Global Village in May. At the village, I learned about the conditions and dilemmas that occur in third-world countries. During the simulation, I lived as a citizen of Upper Mozambique. This was the wealthiest class in Mozambique and the wealthiest overall. I was able to understand that through luxuries such as a bed and windows. The most memorable aspect of the trip was the hectic-ness of the simulation. With little direction and even less information, we had to gather resources and trade with other countries that were rightfully defensive of their belongings. We had to use unorthodox methods to obtain resources and after that we had to figure out how to use them.
