Ms. Koladin, 2024 Q4, Recognise Perspectives
In college compositions one and two, we researched and wrote informative, argumentative papers at the college level. In college composition II, I spent the semester studying the potency of Misinformation online and how it negatively affects society. The semester of research, interviews, surveys, and journaling culminated in a 9-page, 1836-word APA format essay. This project helped me recognise the perspectives of those on all sides of my respective social issue. The presence of misinformation online is an issue closely tied to politics and others' views and opinions, so researching this helped me recognise these opinions from varying sides, aligning well with the "recognizing perspectives" pillar of JAGS. While my essay solely focused on the United States, it still represented massive growth for me in JAGS
Sra. Muñoz, 2025 Q4, Investigate the world, Recognise Perspectives
Studying the Spanish Civil War in my Spanish 4 Class really helped advance my language skills with Spanish, as rather than only using Spanish for grammar reviews or multiple choice questions, I could use my Spanish to learn history and understand lectures and assignments, while using the language outside of solely language studies. this experience for me alligned with the JAGS pillar of recognising perspectives on this controversial time in Spanish history. Through researching and studying the events of Spanish history, and learning of its current effects on spain today, I learned to recognised the spanish persepctives inside their nation.
Ms. Stone, 2025 Q3, Communicate Ideas
The Model UN Convention at Walsh University was a memorable point for my Junior year. Going into Model UN (MUN) I initially was nervous because I had minimal experience speaking publicly. At the convention at Walsh, I was representing the United Kingdom. I worked closely with established English allies to make decisions regarding trade, policies, the environment, and many others to make change in our simulated world. Working with fellow delegates in this field was absolutely critical, as votes were needed for anything to pass, so speaking publicly to push your polices to the front of the discussion, or voicing your opinion with allied nations was absolutely necessary, and helped me grow as a person.
These ideas I built upon in MUN align perfectly with the JAGS core pillar communicate ideas, as during my time at Walsh, and the numerous other conferences I attended, I had to speak about issues my country faced, and brainstorm with others to fix them. Due to all the experience I gained, I was able to go from being nervous about my role in JAGS MUN, to a very confident and well voiced delegate in Model Un Chambers.
Ms. Maxwell, 2024 Q2, Communicate ideas, Take Action
Taking Principles of Engineering at Hoover Highschool was a interesting experience for me. one of the projects that I remember the best is out motion project, that combined hydraulic, rotational and lineal motions into one final unit project. In Principles of Engineering (POE), we often made projects to display what we had learned in class, and this project was very similar in the fact that it was all completely designed by us, everything from the initial concept sketches, Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, and the code was made by me and my partners, to solve a problem or obtain a outcome.
This project helped me realized what I wanted to do with my future, as I originally went into the class thinking I wanted to be a engineer, but recent experiences have lead me elsewhere. Apart from personal development, presenting my solutions to complex mechanical problems presented in class required me to build the skills to communicate ideas effectively. along with this I also developed the skills to take action and work well with a group to improve a target audiences experience with my engineered "products". This class overall helped build me as a JAGS student as it let me communicate my ideas easier and encouraged me to use my mind and technical solutions to take action around me.
