JAGS in its partnership with the International Studies School Network made efforts to educate students with a global outlook opposed to traditional schooling methods. With this emphasis on global competency, JAGS and the ISSN school alike would educate students for employability and citizenship in a global era. This would then call for certain values to be had by the students. Four main ideas or pillars represent these values to be held which include: "Investigate the World", "Recognize Perspectives", "Communicate Ideas", and "Take Action".
