Cool, But Am I Eligible?

Glad you asked! Here are three eligibility requirements to qualify for the California College Promise Grant:

  • You must be a student planning to or currently attending a California community college.

  • You must be determined a resident OR be exempt from non-resident fees under the California Dream Act.

  • You must have financial need.

PRO TIP

Financial need is determined based on factors including your parent’s income and household size. The first step to determining if you have financial need is to complete the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA), which opens doors to all types of financial aid.

Millions of dollars of financial aid go unused every year because students don’t think they will qualify, which in many cases isn’t true. Don’t miss your opportunity to receive financial aid by completing the FAFSA!

How Do I Get Started?

You must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or CADAA (California Dream Act Application) to determine the types of aid you qualify for.
