On Monday 08th July, a group of pupils from Year 4 and 5 went to represent Bearsted Primary Academy at our Trust Sports Day event.
This is the first time that we have had the privilege to attend this event. Mrs Rose was remarkably impressed with the sportsmanship that our pupils demonstrated throughout each track and field event that they participated in. Below, you can see a selection of photos and the overall rankings from the day.
Each academy was asked to nominate a Sportsmanship award for one boy and girl from their representing team. For Bearsted Primary Academy this accolade went to Eli and Alisa. Eli pursued through in pain with gritted teeth at points while running. He said he wanted to carry on and "Do the best for my Academy." Alisa was also chosen to receive this award as she represented her group first in each track and field event. To be the first person representing your team can be daunting, but Alisa took this in her stride and didn't let any nerves get the better of her.
On Wednesday 10th July, another group of pupils went to represent the academy at the Leigh Academy Trust Cricket Festival. The weather at points was not the kindest, however, our pupils did not let this dampen their spirits. They again, represented our academy in the best light and had a fantastic time doing so.
