Principal's Bulletin

Dogs on the academy site

We are politely reminding all parents, carers and visitors that dogs are not permitted to be brought onto the academy site other than assistance dogs. We have members of academy that are fearful of animals including dogs. In addition, we also have members of the academy that are allergic to animals including dogs. We reserve the right to ask parents, carers and visitors to leave the academy site if they do not respect this request. We thank you  in advance for your continued support and understanding.

Car Park (please see Car Park page for more information)

We would like to remind you about only parking in designated car park spaces and bays when using the car park. Please refrain from blocking others in the car park and parking over/on/around the roundabout. We are aware that our car park does pose us difficulty but by working together, we can best overcome the difficulties we face.

Thank you to all those parents who have already responded to the Trust car park survey. The comments and suggestions you have made are really very helpful and give a good reflection of the true extent of the situation. We are also grateful for the kind comments made about support for the academy.  If you have not already completed he survey, please use this link. the survey closes on Monday 12th February 2024.

New Academy Branding- REMINDER

From September 2024, Bearsted Primary Academy will change its name to Leigh Academy Bearsted. All associated branding will be updated to reflect this change, which will include pupil uniform. To minimise any cost to parents, all existing uniform items currently in circulation can continue to be worn until they are phased out. In consultation with our uniform providers, any new items of uniform purchased for next academic year will reflect this change of name. There will not be any change to the actual uniform that pupils are required to wear.

Backpacks and PE kit

Please be reminded that pupils should only be bringing into the academy a 'book bag' or a backpack that is no larger than A4 in size. Of late, we have noticed that our pupils are bringing in with them backpacks and bags that are very large. This is causing us and them some issues in regard to keeping the cloakroom neat, organised and clutter free.

In addition, we would like to remind parents of our expectations regarding PE Kit. Please refer to the Academy Uniform page on this bulletin for further information regarding PE Kit expectations.

Communications (additional page on menu)

As a reminder, we have included our communications information as a separate page on this bulletin.
