About English Language Development:
Through the English Language Development program, K-5 English Language Learners will get daily academic support to help them achieve success in the classroom. Students will have opportunities to practice communication skills, reading and writing skills, and review ELA concepts in a small group setting. Technology is incorporated into lessons. Not only does this increase engagement, but it gives students the opportunity to become proficient with computers in an increasingly technological world. The English Language Development teacher communicates regularly with the general education teachers to find out students' specific needs as well as material that is being covered in ELA class. In small groups, ELL students have the opportunity to review and practice skills to help increase understanding and work at gaining mastery of skills.
