The Design Thinking Process

What is Design Thinking?

Design Thinking is a process that can help me find out what the public needs. I look into my intereviewees and ask them a series of questions which will henceforth allow me to define the problem. With the problem at hand, we can design brainstorm ideas and put the best one into a prototype. We give our interviewees our prototype and make sure that it's good enough to release to the public.

Empathize

You will need to conduct interviews with your interviewees.

Define

You will need to use your notes to find out what the interviewees find concerning.

Ideate

Now you know the problem, time to brainstorm your ideas and find out solutions.

Prototype

You know what's in mind now, time to put your ideas into action. From what you know, make a design of what your contraption or experience looks like.

Assess

After making your prototype, give it to your interviewees to try out. If your prototype is not good to use, then you should retry.

Empathize

Below is my Padlet that started the process of Design Thinking for me. I used the Padlet to interview people and get their perspective on Harry Potter, which was my new interest.

My conclusion: Not lots of people read Harry Potter. Harry Potter is just famous because lots of people just know it and don't read it.

Define

Below is my Define Slides that I used to define the problem with Harry Potter. After my Padlet interview, I used my information and found out the problem with Harry Potter which was to make it more popular.

Below is my Ideate Master List, this is a chart that I brainstormed some ideas to solve my problem.

Ideate PT2

Below is my Ideate slides. After I brainstormed my master idea, I chose 3 of my best ideas and decided to debate them and see which one was better to use. I decided to use the Harry Potter Activities which was quite hard to do.

Prototype

Below is my Prototype Slides that I used to find my Prototype. Since my idea was Harry Potter Activities, I didn't do much in this section.

Assess/Test

OK, now here's the situation. I had my prototype in mind, but I changed my mind. So I've decided to print a shortened version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone so I can give it to Year 4 students.

Harry Potter Part One

Note that I drew the cover myself (it isn't very good).

After reading it, can you leave a review?
