26.2.21 Wk 1 Grid Reflection

The most important piece of knowledge I learned this week was: making the question balanced.

This knowledge will help me in the future when I make other surveys, I could make the questions more balanced so the reader won't answer too many answers.

1.3.21 Action Reflection- Participation

Mostly every year, I participate in the "Box Of Hope" school event. It basically lets students pack unwanted items into a box and those items will be delivered to helpless poor children. I sometimes ask my mum to buy some items to fill the things on the checklist but after the pandemic (coronavirus) there was no more Box Of Hope school event anymore. I really miss doing Box Of Hope because it helps my wellbeing to Be Active because I'm normally very lazy but it also helps poor children. This impacts their wellbeing to Keep Learning- I give materials for the poor people (kids mostly) so they could keep learning and have better learning with those materials (pencils and notebooks). This also impacts their wellbeing to Be Active because my mom bought them balls and toys for them to keep active and workout a sweat. The Box Of Hope also impacts their wellbeing of connect because I gave them toys for multiple chidren to play for example small 2+ people games. I mostly leave a positive note in the box so they could feel happy about it.

3.3.21 Wk 2 Grid Reflection

The ATL I demonstrated this week is Reflection

I show this ATL when I am at school, for this exhibition, we had to do a lot of reflections and Mrs. Craig taught us how to make good reflections by saying What I did, How it went, What you learned and impact, and also What you will do differently in the future. I ask myself these questions and put this information in my reflection. It upgrades my reflections and makes them more detailed.

3.24.21 Wk 3 Grid Reflection

The learner profile I displayed this week was "Risk Taker".

I showed this when I had to record a video for the exhibition interview padlet, I was camera shy so then it took me about 16-23 tries to say things correctly

27 March Innovation Reflection

My innovation idea was a "Mini Garden" which will be in every classes.

The impact to wellbeing is it mainly helps students to take notice of the plant and also keep learning of how to take care of the plant because every month, there will have 3-5 students as the "Garden Representative" and it will be a random/volunteered student. It also impacts the wellbeing be active because the students (the 3-5 students) will have to be active and not be lazy to take care of the plant. It also impacts the wellbeing connect because if the class has a lot of work to do (especially exhibition), they will have a little time within the day (school day) to take care of the plant and also they could chat to the other people as the garden representative. This also impacts the action participation because the students could participate as the garden representative. I believe that the youngers could get very interested in the plants because it is basically something new that they could experience.

April 1st Innovation Idea Feedback Reflection

Is this idea effective? Mum - Yes this idea is effective and has an impact on students because many students have too much screentime so their eyes will be very tired and looking at green plants help student's eyes especially the younger ones, some plants also could make the air more fresh and during the pandemic, this would be a good idea to do. Students also could learn about plants and the students that might not have the opportunity to go out could observe the plant and it is like a fun activity to do at school.

Feedbacks and improvements- Mum - You could plant different types of plants in your classrooms (some grown in water, soil or fruits) and this helps the children observe different types of plants and learn how to take care of different plants, you could also write a plant journal written by the garden representative (3-5 students volunteered or picked). This helps the students to have better and more enjoyable learning. I was also thinking that you could let the students (Garden representative) bring back home to care for as a little break from their home learning especially the Year Six working on an exhibition project.

How these Feedbacks and improvements could help my innovation idea- Mum - Planting different types of plants could help students learn different plant's growing process, having a plant journal could make their learning more fun and so is (The Garden Representative) bringing plants back home.

Prototype reflection

What I did

I made a prototype of my mini garden exhibition idea. I found 3 students in our class to take care of the plant and be the Garden Representative.

Why I did it

I did it because I just feel like the pandemic has affected many people (mostly children), they lost opportunities to go out or even have a breath of fresh air.

What I will do next

I want to make more and more plants throught the school and have over 18 plants.

Completion Reflection

My innovation is a mini garden which will be on the window sill in your classrooms. 3-5 students each month (volunteered or picked randomly) will be selected as the "Garden Representative" meaning to take care of the plant in their classroom. This innovation idea solves students not having the opportunity to go out, it helps students to get an opportunity to take notice and feel the nature, this innovation idea also helps students to keep learning about the plant because they will recive posters of how to take care of a tomato plant and also how to create a homemade pot, finally this idea helps students to take notice because they have to constantly water the plant. I chose this innovation idea because a lot of people have been affected by the pandemic and lost many opportunities to go out so I really wanted to help them (especially older people) and let them take notice, keep learning and be active. My innovation idea impacts the wellbeing keep learning, be active and take notice because students will have a chance to learn how to take care of the plant, be active and always check it and take notice of the plant's changes. I have shown empathy to my community because I have put myself into student's shoes and I believe that when they weren't able to go out, they should be very bored at home although 1 student I interviewd said staying at home is more comfortable but the majority of students like to go out. I also put myself in parent's shoes and I know that when they see their child being bored at home, they would want to help their child, this could be very stressful for some parents. My reflections drive changes to my prototype because Mr. Lowe (the technology teacher) said 3D printing 36 plants will not be possible so he said he could buy some pots for my exhibition and print some for my 2nd prototype and also I will bring my own cups as a watering can for people to water the plant. Throughout the exhibition, I think I strengthened being confident and communication skills because I was very nervous to go to class 1k to ask 2 children to do a test plant with me. I waited in the stair case for about a minute and I calmed down, I finally had the courage to go in the class but it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be although I kind of talked very awkwardly with the children and the teacher, talking to Wesley and Mandy (the two 1k students I took to do a test plant with me) was the most challenging because they don't know me and they don't know how to give feedback to me. Their feedback was mostly about I liked the plant or I like green leaves. I really struggled to try and let them understand what I'm asking them. At least I learned what worked and what won't. I believe prototyping was the most challenging design proccess because I had to think of what I can improve about my 1st prototype because it's just a plant, there wasn't anything wrong with it, I believe it is almost perfect. I spent days thinking how I can improve my idea. I came up with this idea to start with a small planter and moving it to a big planter. I also have done mini tests at home to see if my improvements work. Sadly most of them didn't really work or go as planned. I would give advide to the future Year 6's next year to start small for your prototype, make it low-fi (low fidelity) and then go big for your last prototype (high-fi/high fidelity), make it creative (add lights/decor), make it unique (with a unique name). Aside from your product, make sure you catch up with your website, never give up and keep going, it could be stressful but the end product should be worth it if you work hard. Make sure your idea has an impact, is sustainable, should be improved (from feedback) and also you could get inspiration from others, don't fully copy theirs but just try to get some inspiration (searching online/looking at other's idea and see if there is anything unique or good to use for your idea).
