through the use of a Grid

Demonstration on using a Grid as a Drawing Aid to enlarge a drawing/ transfer to canvas prior to painting.
Materials:
- pencil / pen
- ruler
- canvas
PROCEDURE: A grayscale drawing is enlarged for rendering in a canvas. As the original drawing has archival value for me, I decided to photocopy it and drew the grid on the photocopy.
Photocopy your original drawing.
Draw a grid of squares and label each axis line.
On the larger surface, draw a proportionally larger and similar grid. Label each axis line accordingly.
Focus on the lines and copy from square to square.
After the drawing is enlarged, proceed to the painting stage [coming soon!].
Student's drawing was photographed and then a grid was digitally overlaid.
Focus on the lines and work from grid to grid.
From an ink drawing on paper, the elephant image is being enlarged to a canvas sheet.
Slow but sure.
