This is my first year teaching and I am so happy to have been able to accept the position at Allen Elementary. I live in the Bow-Edison community, and value the unique and beautiful valley we call home!
My background
My background
I grew up in the south Puget Sound, just west of Tacoma. During my childhood I learned alongside a vibrant, enriching, and diverse population from all around the country and world. My mother was, and still is, a Special Education Teacher herself. Education was a passion and opportunity of mine from an early age. Upon finishing High School, I continued on to the University of Washington to study behavioral neuroscience. After about a year of my studies, I realized that my fascination with the human mind was better suited when working with people rather than data and numbers. I moved to Bellingham to pursue a Bachelors of Arts in Education, with a dual endorsement in Elementary and Special Education. I completed my internships at Conway Elementary School, which inspired me to pursue my career in teaching in Skagit Valley.
