Mr. Wasson
The legend has it that in the sixth grade Mr. Wasson's older brother forced him to lick a 9 volt battery which caused the front of his hair to turn white. And although that legend is not true, the white patch in his hair is probably the thing people wonder about the most upon meeting him for the first time. The truth is, the white hair mysteriously appeared when Mr. Wasson was in the 6th grade and has never disappeared. He's been called everything from Grandpa to Bald Eagle to Skunk to his favorite: Silverhawk. You name it, he's been called it.
Besides fielding questions with regard to his hair, Mr. Wasson is a crazy University of Oklahoma fan. Ask him anything about OU sports and he'll know the answer. Whether it's the Women's Underwater Basket Weaving team to the 2014 NCAA National Champion football team, Mr. Wasson knows it all.
More than Oklahoma however, Mr. Wasson cares for students. He has worked with students since he himself was a student in one capacity or another. If Mr. Wasson isn't wearing Crimson and Cream for the Sooners, he is cloaked in Blue and Gold for the TIGERS. He has coached B-E Freshman Football for the past 11 years and JV girls Tennis for 3 years.
Mr. Wasson is in his 4th year as a Career and Technical Education teacher. He enjoys his work with the students at both B-E North and North North . He believes that everyone has a story to tell and that each student's story can impact the way they learn. Mr. Wasson asks intuitive questions to get to know the heart of who his students are and uses their passions to fuel their learning.
